1. Manesar (56 km)
Manesar, which was formerly an unremarkable quiet village, the past three decades into a major Manwsar is renowned for its rural charm, relative to its opulent and exciting resorts. Manesar is a popular getaway for Delhi residents because of its peaceful and beautiful surroundings.
- How to Get There: Driving along NH 48 from Delhi to Manesar takes about 1.5 hours.
- Best Time to Visit: November to February because visiting during the sweltering summer would be uncomfortable.
2. Sohna (63 km)
When visiting a nearby tourist retreat, Delhi residents frequently take a detour to this charming city in Haryana. The area is well-known for its tranquil lakes, hot springs, and nearby fort ruins. Visit the infamous Bhangarh Fort, one of India’s most eerie locations, which is located on the outskirts of Alwar.
- How to Get There: From Delhi, take NH 48 to Alwar. It takes about 3 to 4 hours to travel.
5. Mathura (180 km)
This location, which is not far from Delhi, is ideal for those looking for a brief spiritual and scenic getaway. As the home of Lord Krishna himself, Mathura is renowned for its vivacious neighborhoods, magnificent temples, and upbeat vibe.
- How to Get There: It takes about 3–4 hours to travel from Delhi to Mathura. Use the Yamuna Expressway or the AH1.
- Best Time to Visit: October to March are the best months to visit because of the pleasant weather; for a truly memorable experience, try to visit Mathura during the Holi festival!
6. Sariska Tiger Reserve (195 km)
Visitors are delighted by Sariska Tiger Reserve’s rocky landscapes, dry deciduous forests, and, of course, its abundant wildlife in this predator’s home in the Aravalli Hills. This roughly 866 square km area is also home to leopards, Indian jackals, chinkaras, langurs, and sambar deer in addition to Royal Bengal tigers.
The distance between Sariska and Alwar Railway Station, where frequent trains run from Delhi, is only 37 km. However, since it is easily accessible via NH 8, we advise taking a taxi or cab for the five-hour trip.

Maharaja Suraj Mal built a heavily fortified city in the 1700s that is now known as Bharatpur. - How to Get There: Bharatpur is close to the border between Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. You can travel the Yamuna Expressway in about 4 hours to get to Bharatpur.
- The best months to visit are from October to February, when migratory birds are most likely to pass through this region.
8. Mandawa (232 km)
Mandawa is a charming tourist destination in the Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, which is another unusual getaway close to Delhi. The sobriquet “Open Art Gallery” refers to this tranquil 18th-century settlement, which is dotted with numerous exquisite Havelis and a namesake fort. Every culture enthusiast will be compelled to further explore Mandawa because of its winding roads and simple-minded residents.
The town is well connected to Delhi via NH 9, and there are state-run buses that run here as well as private taxi services. Alternatively, Jhunjhunu Railway Station (27.3 km) is the closest to Mandawa if traveling by train.
