One Punch Man Season 4 Release Date, Plot, And All Other Info

One Punch Man

One Punch Man made a name for itself by being the anime that was able to blend in both dark and satirical aspects with a lighthearted setting, leading to high rewatchability. However, one of the consequences from this was that many people were able to see through its façade from an early stage, making it lose some of its luster over time. In order to combat this issue, ONE has started expanding way earlier than he normally would have. The side stories serve as a wellspring of fan service for older fans while also offering ironically enough a brand new appeal to newer audiences who are less familiar with the source material.

However, using from these side stories in place of the main story leaves a few problems. While they do work in some cases, others such as the Dragon Ball Super filler arc and Jojo Part 4 stand out in stark contrast to their source material and fall flat in comparison due to how watered down they are. The obvious solution seems like it would be is to retcon the anime original ending from the main series,

Fans of vanilla One Punch Man

Fans of vanilla One Punch Man berserk anime ending who liked the show for what it was(as opposed to older viewers) and ONE himself both seem against such an idea. On top of this, doing so would divert too far away from its comedic roots and turn into just another generic Shonen instead. So what options are left?

The solution that I believe works best is to go back to the drawing board, but not without taking some of these side stories into account. They can take what they’ve learned from them and apply it to a strong sequel season. This would give us fans something new while also keeping everyone’s favorite moments intact. It would be best if the story were entirely original, though there are definitely ways for exceptions to this rule if one feels up to the task.

One Punch Man Season 4 release date:

One Punch Man is an anime television series based on the manga of the same name by One and Murata Yuusuke. The first episode has been released in 2015 by Studio Madhouse, making it available for streaming via different platforms. On April 22nd, 2018, it was announced that season 2 will be made available through Amazon Video exclusively to UK customers even though Season 1 started airing only four months before the release date of its sequal. It’s assumed that Netflix or other online services will make it available for other customers too.

On August 16th, 2018, during the Anime Expo convention (in Los Angeles), Voice Actor Makoto Furukawa revealed that there are no plans for releasing a new season in the next year. The reason for this is that One Punch Man was originally created with the intention of having only 11 episodes with each episode being 24 minutes long. At the moment, Murata Yuusuke works on his new manga, Mob Psycho 100.

As it takes several months to release a new chapter of One Punch Man, many anime fans are frustrated by the fact that there is no news when Saitama will be back in action. Every time when an interview or convention took place during which Voice Actor Makoto Furukawa was present, he has been asked about Season 4 but nobody has ever announced anything official so far, even if rumors have been circulating for months. It seems like there are no plans of making One Punch Man Season 4 available before 2020.

According to some rumors:

According to some rumors, the studio is already working on the continuation of Saitama’s story but nothing has been made official. During this period, you can still watch all episodes from season 1 and 2 as well as read Murata Yuusuke’s manga thanks to Viz Media which will publish its upcoming release in February 2019.

At the end of August 2018, a fan petition entitled “Delay or Reduce Mob Psycho 100 II and Release OPM Season 4” started gaining popularity through Change.org. The goal was to make Madhouse Studio realize that there are many anime fans who want to see Saitama back in action as soon as possible even though it’s been more than a year since the release of One Punch Man Season 2.

The petition was created by a person who goes by the online handle “Xylem”. Over 5,000 people have signed it so far and you can still join them if you also want Season 4 to be available as soon as possible.

Genos’ backstory

Genos would definitely be a top contender for an anime original arc because he’s one of the characters who didn’t get much attention in the original series. In the main story, the only thing we know about him is his origin being from another country and having been built by his parent to have superpowers. The reason why I want this backstory to be explored further is because it helps flesh out a character that otherwise would’ve just been a cyborg character with little personality to him other than being a powerful ally.

In addition, there are times where it felt like Genos’ actions didn’t entirely match up with what his motivations were: for example, you’d think that after seeing Saitama defeat dozens of monsters effortlessly would him doubts on whether or not he should be a hero or if he can trust Saitama to be around. With this backstory, that would now have the chance of being explored in more detail.

What are the streaming options for One Punch Man Season 3?

Crunchy roll and Netflix currently offer two seasons of One Punch Man, so Season 3 is likely to follow. Because it has yet to be released, you can’t watch it yet, but that’s the most likely place to find it.

The Disney Plus subscription will have to wait until we know if the show will be available. While the One Punch Man Season 3 Episode 1 countdown is still going on, there is still time to catch it.

The popularity of One Punch Man makes it likely that more than one bidder will bid for the new season.

Other thoughts on anime original arcs

Too actually finish off this blog post, here are some other thoughts I have on what will happen with potential future OPM anime original storylines:

To those who don’t want Dr. Stone anime original arcs, I suggest people watch both OPM movies as well as Super as those are all what you could call “sequels” to the main story which lead into other stories that take place after those films’ events occur. In fact, there’s supposed to be an OVA for Dr. Stone coming out later this year so perhaps we’ll see what happens with Saitama and Genos during part 2 of Dr. Stone.
