Different Types of Concreting And Uses

Concrete works as a basic element in the process of construction. It consists of a hard structure and it has particular substances like sand and gravel. Which are mixed in the water and cement so, the hard material (concrete) could be made.

Concreting all depends on its elements like cement and water and others. The ratio of the water-to-cement measures the characteristic or procedure of concreting. If the water content is lower then the concrete will be stronger.

Credit for the invention of concrete goes to Joseph Monier, who was a Parisian gardener. He made the pots and tubs for the gardens with the help of concrete reinforced and iron mesh.

Types of Concreting And its uses:-

Concrete is one of the materials which can be found almost anywhere like in buildings, houses, bridges, walls, and so on. Concreting has differed in several types due to the constituting material, mix design and method of construction, area of application, and form of the hydration reaction. However, the type of this material also depends on your purpose and how you want to use it. Some of the concerts have the same goals. Whereas others are depends on a person’s choice. Some of the types are mentioned below.

Ordinary Quality Concrete

The concrete which is used in the ratio of 1:2:4 for the basic ingredients like concrete, sand, and water to produce the concrete. That is called normal strength concrete. It takes up to 30 minutes to set up. However, the setting time entirely depends on the weather conditions at the construction site and the cement’s properties.

It is not the best material type for those structures that need more strength and have to face windy problems. As it could not stand the stress which is created by the wind vibrations and loading. On the other hand, it could be utilized in those buildings and pavements, where high tensile stress is not needed.

Plain or Conventional Concrete

That is another category of concreting. It also used the ratio of 1:2:4 like the normal design. It is made with the mixing of components of aggregates, cement, and sand. The thickness of the plain concrete will shift between 22000 and 2500kg/meter 3d shades. The compressive quality is 200 to 500 kg/cm. It also has the same properties or strength as normal-strength concrete. However, it could be used to make dams because the durability of this type is very satisfactory.

Reinforced Concrete

Reinforced Concreting was invented in the 19th century. Due to this great invention, the construction industry has changed dramatically. Buildings, bridges, and roads which are used basically by the folk in everyday life are constructed by the reinforced concreting. Before it sets the wires, steel rods, or cables are placed so, the strength of this category will improve or aid. It is used in industries and modern construction work.

Prestressed Material

Numerous huge concrete ventures utilize prestressed concrete units. It is made by applying an uncommon strategy. Like fortified concreting, it incorporates bars or ligaments. But these bars or tendons are focused on the genuine application of the concreting.

Before mixing and placing the concrete, those bars are placed at the end of the structural unit so it could be put into compression.

It used to make heavy bridges, roofs, or heavily loaded structures as it could manage to handle more weight.

Precast Concrete

According to the customer’s demand or specification, it is created and cast in a factory. After the precast concrete is transferred to the site and then collected.

It is used to make concrete blocks, precast walls, staircase units, and poles.  Due to the manufacturing place, it has very high quality.

Light-Weight Aggregates

Which have 1920kg/m or lesser than this thickness, is called light-weight concrete. It is made by using lightweight aggregates, adding the dynasty to the style of concrete.

It is used to make long-spanning bridge decks and building blocks. Another use is that it gives protection to steel structures.

High-Density Substance

It has a very special motive. It is as often as possible utilized within the development of nuclear control plants. The high-density concrete uses heavyweight substances, which help the structure resist radiation.

In this concrete crushed rocks are used as the main substance.

Summarize

All in all, Concreting is one of the main elements used in the construction process from personal properties to public buildings, bridges, etc. Landscaping and decking are also used to attract folk opinion towards the property. However, without concreting everything is impossible as making a house also depends on it. It is also divided into many parts as per human choices and the uses of the element. So, people have a responsibility to choose the best type according to its characteristics. So, the process will continue and in the middle it will not be halted.
