Love him or hate him, Bobby Brown is one of the most famous name in music history. He was lead singer for New Edition before going solo in 1988 with the release of “Don’t be Cruel.”
That album was a monster success, spawning 5 top ten singles and helping to launch the career of then-unknown singer Whitney Houston. But it wasn’t long before fissures began to show within his marriage to Whitney. Over time, their drug usage increased which led them to become inseparable when on tour together. As time wore on there were more rumors about drugs and violence linked to both singers, culminating in them appearing separately at an awards show in 1993 while Bobby tearfully told everyone that he wanted his wife back.
However, by the end of the year, Bobby filed for a divorce which Whitney did not contest. As for his personal life, Brown had a drug addiction problem and was arrested several times for possession of drugs including cocaine and crack cocaine. He also had legal troubles for domestic violence towards his wife during their relation who lasted from 1992 to 2006, but it has been reported that he had recon ciliated with Houston before she died. Moreover he married Alicia Etheridge in 2007, but they separated in 2010 after one year together. Brown fathered a total of 12 children with several women.
Next Two Albums
His next two albums went platinum and he also record a duet with popular R&B singer Mary J. Blige called “My love is your love.” But in 1996 he ran into trouble after being arrested for drug possession while traveling through Texas. That same year Whitney made headlines when her new husband, Bobby’s old friend and manager, Bobbi Brown, was arrested on conspiracy charges while trying to procure cocaine for his wife’s 39th birthday party. The charges were later dropped but rumors of Bobby bullying Bobbi around circulated in the press at that time. He continued to appear on records with other artists until getting together again with New Edition in 2004 in a performance with Whitney.
In 2005, it was announced that Bobby and Whitney were getting back together but in 2006 he appeared in a TV interview to say that they were no longer romantically involved.
In 2010, during an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey show, Bobby admitted to being unfaithful during his second marriage to Whitney Houston. A year later Bobbi filed for divorce from Whitney citing that her children had grown tired of seeing their mother mistreated by her husband and manager. Although custody of the kids was awarded to Brown, Houston is appealing the decision saying she will not rest until her rights as a parent are restored.

Together they had daughter named Bobbi Kristina Brown who died aged 22 years old, on July 26, 2015 due to drowning. The bobbi Kristina story is an ongoing saga that made the headlines also because of her parents’ stormy relationship. His paintings are merely copies of appropriated images (The X-Files, Snoopy), with titles like “Untitled (Abstraction)” and “Untitled (Blonde Baby).” They’re not even well painted. One of them looks like a little kid did it in crayon. The Whitney Biennial is supposed to be about emerging American artists–this is just a shameless bid for publicity. This is just the worst kind of art world hype, all kids know it sucks but don’t have the guts to say so because they want a career someday.”
The Whitney Museum of American Art announced yesterday that the husband of late singer Whitney Houston would be one of sixty-three artists featured in its 2012 biennial, which opens March 1. Curators Christopher Y. Lew and Mia Locks said they invited Brown to participate because his work “represents a convergence of painting, performance, music video, and installation”.
